> SERIES INFO
This body of work consists of over twenty mixed media drawings. Most were on exhibit at E. Gordon Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio, where they were shown concurrently with Douglas Max Utter's Speechless exhibition in September of 2005.
Niflheim is the realm of ice and cold in Norse mythology. The terrain of this underworld is ruled by the goddess Hel, who is a guide through the shadow land and teacher of the inherent duality of life and death. The works are charcoal, chalk pastel, and pencil on paper. The drawings were produced during the winter of 2004 between the eve of an anniversary, December 27, and Valentines Day, February 14.
