> SERIES INFO
This collaborative work with artist Deanna Mance, consists of twenty-nine works on paper. These mixed media drawings were exhibited in a group exhibition titled Fresh Juice at Thirdstone Gallery in Saugatuck, Michigan in March of 2003.
The word amalgamate means to join together into one, which appropriately describes this collaborative work. Both artists have an acute interest in subjects which pertain to unseen energies and hidden history. Each having a sketchbook, Stumpf and Mance would work for fifteen to twenty minutes on a drawing, then exchange books and draw on top and add to each others creation, with charcoal, pen, conte crayon, and pencil. They would continue to exchange books back and forth about six times until each artist felt a resolution.
