> SERIES INFO
This new body of work is almost completed and will consist of over twenty drawings which are mostly pen and ink on paper. A solo exhibition of this work will be on view starting October 14th, 2008 at Box Heart Gallery, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
In this most recent series, Stumpf explores, compares, and excavates the self by using a visual motif akin to that of geological formations, and three words to invoke specific metaphors. The series of pen and ink drawings look like piles; stacked, heaped, and mountainous. The formations are at times singular, in pairs or groupings, and some have gaping holes in there structure.
This series of work is currently being completed and photographed.
